I do NOT want Lollipop on my S5. The upgrade was optional for awhile, but now it seems mandatory. How do I make the upgrade notifications stop? This is infuriating. Please help!
The notifications will continue until the update is installed.
Without modding your device (which would void your warranty), I don't believe you can permanently dismiss the nagging. Likely, at some point, it will auto-install on you, or you may accidently hit the wrong button. It's a pretty terrible situation isn't it? I got sick and tired of the nagging on my LG G2, but I eventually gave in, performed a pre-upgrade FDR, downloaded the upgrade, and installed it, and performed another FDR. This is a major upgrade, and it has not gone smoothly for many people on many make and model devices.
I would recommend crafting a letter to your regional manager and articulating your displeasure with the roll out of Lollipop and being forced to modify your device when it's working properly, for what you can see as an educated consumer may result in a compromised device.Region Leadership | Verizon Wireless
Thanks for the link to Region Leadership. I am not optimistic regarding
the ultimate outcome, but it's satisfying to know who is to blame for my
unhappiness!
You should be able to stop the update. I did on the Note4. Go to XDA Developers and search the forums for the method.

I am in the same boat. Can someone please help?
If you look back at an earlier reply you'll see a link to regional
management. They were not able to fix the problem but I did get a
response. Maybe if enough of us complain loud enough to the right people,
they might feel compelled to do something!
You cannot stop the notifications or roll back.
I am the OP. If I knew how to disable the OTA I would have done so,
warranty be damned! But it requires rooting the device and there I am out
of my depth. If this persists I will find a friend to do it for me; I will
not accept the loathsome Lollipop. I just wish I could convince Verizon to
accommodate their loyal customers.
