Unwanted 'contacts' on email autofill

I have a Galaxy3 and I am careful about maintaining my contact list to only those I want. However if I create a message (or forward a picture) and start keying in an id for the recipient, the system will pop up an 'autofill' list of possible contacts which appears to include every possible address on the internet. This list includes addresses that I know but NEVER want to see again, and many that may come from sites I may have visited once...or never. I can find no way to delete or manage this list. So how can I manage it, or turn it off??

I can manage the contacts on the internal contact list as well as the ones on gmail, yahoo, my comcast account, facebook, etc. and have eliminated all but the ones I want to keep. But if I try to forward a picture/image, and start typing in an email address, I will get this list of suggested addresses that seem to come from everywhere - window manufacturers, adult sites, people I don't know, just about anywhere...and all it allows from that list is to select the one I want - no delete, no mgt. at all. I wonder if your auto fill is somehow syncing with your phone through maybe Chrome or through Chrome PC Browser.

Gmail app will suggest anyone else who has sent email to your Gmail address.

I remember having my contacts list invaded by all manner of email addresses from businesses and other one-time contacts. Try this: Go to Gmail via desktop. Go to Contacts. Go to the Gear on the right side of the screen. Click settings. Click the General tab and scroll down to Create contacts for auto-complete: Check: I'll add contacts myself.

Might need to manage the contacts in the Contacts list at this point and delete any unwanted contacts.
