None of my text messages are going out

Text messages are not going out and I have no idea why! I also failed to receive some messages that other people sent me. When powered down the phone and started it up again, the messages I wrote that did not get sent were gone altogether. Help!!

We want to make sure everything on your phone works just the way it's supposed to! Are you still receiving most of your texts? After the restart were you able to try sending a new text? Is it only certain people you can't send to or everyone? What type of phone do you have?
