I'm new to Verizon and new to smartphones. My phone is not receiving calls. When I call from another phone, it goes right to voicemail. What is up with this?
Is call forwarding turned off?
Yes, it certainly is. It is a brand new phone and I never set up call forwarding. But I checked to be sure and call forwarding appears to be off.
What's your zip code?
LBMcKenzie, welcome to the Verizon Wireless family! I want to make sure that all of your features are working on the phone. Are you able to send and receive text messages without any issues? Also, did you port your number over from a different carrier? Please keep us posted. Looking forward to working with you.

Kevin, I spent two hours on the home phone on Sunday with both my old carrier and my Verizon. Verizon says that they sent a port request to AT&T two weeks ago. ATT denies ever getting the request. Verizon says a new one cannot be sent. ATT says, "no request on this side. END OF STORY."
The customer service person at Verizon gave me a telephone number at verizon to work out the problem but when I selected to have the chat emailed to me, it did not do so so I have no number to call now. It has been two weeks with no phone calls coming in. I do not believe I'm getting all of my text messages. I know of several messages I get on a regular basis that I'm not longer receiving. Yet, I have getting some text messages. NO phone calls in but I can make phone calls from the phone. To be honest, this is getting a bit maddening, especially when it takes 2 hours to supposedly resolve the situation only to be told to call someone else. And now I cannot even call the person at Verizon in charge of port requests because the number was lost in the ethernet.
We don't want to start off your service with us on this bad note, LBMcKenzie. It's important we get that port completed so you can enjoy the full Verizon Wireless service. Many times our chat transcript will end up in a spam or trash filter, so I highly recommend checking all your email folders for that requested transcript. Our Port Center can be reached at 888-844-7095 Monday - Saturday, 7 AM - 11 PM CT as well as Sunday, 9 AM - 9 PM CT. I'm confident a representative with our Port Team can help get this straightened out.

I know this is an old post, however it is still relevant, I purchased a new Verizon phone, I can text, get text, call But cant get calls, "Call forwarding is turned off" I had my number ported from Straight talk. They told me two hours mat we are going on 20 hours now and incoming calls still go to the other phone, the problem is now the plan on the other phone is expired so I am jacked. I tried the *611 and got no help, Tired calling the 888-294-6804 number and get hung up on every time I try to talk to a person. Would someone just make this happen with out jumping through 900 hoops and 50 different numbers to call!
It can take 24-48 for a [port to fully complete. Turn the old phone OFF completely to ensure the port completes successfully.
