movie player?

I was trying to watch FlashForward (awesome show!) on my Eris.  I converted the .avi file to mp4.  I put it in the MEDIA file on the installed SD card (via usb connection with PC).

 

I played it, but the sound was out of sync!

 

I played the same mp4 file on my desktop PC and also on my iPod touch, and it played it perfectly.  What's the deal?

 

Picture quality was fine.  Sound was screwed up.

 

Any hints, or possibly some (free) video players that work well with Eris??
