I actually decided to watch that show ASAP when I saw your post. The death crash never, ever looked anything like the Talladega crash that happened earlier. I always wondered about that seat belt. Seems it was all because of improper belt routing through the seat, angle, and the lack of full face helmet along with Ken's car hitting from the passenger side. Surprised it was only 1.5 hours long. I knew Marlin bumped the rear, and never understood why Sr over-corrected back up the track instead of doing the usual "drive through the infield" stunt. I still think Marlin got a bad wrap for that. But, it's racing and Sr had bumped many a dude off the track before. Perfect storm scenario I guess.

I remember not long after the crash that I was visiting some relatives for some event, all of them #3 Chevy fans. I drove up in my Dodge. Then strode up there into the house with my favorite present that year form Christmas...a #40 pit crew cap. Got a little intense for a few minutes.
