Computer won't recognize my S6 to move photos off of my phone

I am trying to move photos/video off of my S6 on to my macbook pro. I have had no issues with this in the past, but for some reason, my computer does not recognize my phone. My phone charges while being plugged in to the computer, I used the USB the phone came with and I also tried another one. HELP! My phone is running out of space.

There are a few ways to do this:  you can check for Mac drivers on the Samsung support page, you can upload your files to a cloud service and remove from phone and you can use something like SuperBeam | WiFi Direct Share - Android Apps on Google Play  to send files wirelessly over wifi to the PC.  I use SuperBeam and it is MUCH faster than USB.
