How do I tranfer my calendar to a new device?

I have a Razr Maxx, but I recently purchased a Galaxy S6. It's already been activated at the store. All of my contacts, apps and pix transferred nicely, but I can't seem to retrieve my calendar off my Razr. It's pretty important to me. I lost my texts too, but I can live without them, I guess.

Connect your S6 calendar to Google calendar. Should sync up if your Droid was synced to Google calendar.

The text messages can be backed and restored up with several applications from the Play Store. One of them is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore.

Check the events on the old phone. Were they saved to the phone only calendar or your Gmail account? The events won't sync to the new phone if they were saved in the phone only calendar.
