I know this is probably an old question ,but I'm horrible at navigating the forums to find the answer! I've been looking for 25 mins! For some reason the search isn't working for me.

This is the first time I've had any type of phone other then the free basic phone you get for sign on. I've never even held a smartphone until two days ago.

Either way, I know some apps are a monthly fee, and some are free. But I had a friend tell me there are apps that have a one time fee. Is this true? If so, how do I know the difference when I browse the android market on my phone in the paid section? All I see is the 'price' . Also, is it charged on my verizon bill or elsewhere? TIA

Actually apps in the android market are not a monthly fee. If the app says a fee then it is a one time fee.That's it. If the app is free,it'll state that it is free.When I go to the android market I am prompted with "top paid apps" or "top free apps" or "just in". If you see that,just tap top free apps. From what I can remember from another post the apps are charged to your bill,but you can have it billed another way I believe.

I don't know about the Android market place, but other places for software have some apps that have a monthly or yearly service fee.

It is usually stated in the description or at the very least on the checkout page.

There are some monthly fee Android apps. They are few and far between and usually are tied to a subscription service. It will only be a monthly fee if it explicitly says so in the description.

You input a credit card the first time you pay for an app. After that, it's tied into your gmail acct to use for other paid apps. Some apps do have a subscription fee but those are usually free up front. Every so often you may find one that isn't so clear about a subscription. Check the comments and the rating before downloading. If there is a hidden fee, you'll probably find out about it there.
