I recently have been a target of pornographic TXT messages. I called and had a temp block placed on the number for three months. In order to block the sender permanently I would have to pay monthly. After the three months the block was lifted and the person sending the messages started up where they left off.
Laws in the State of California strictly forbid the sending of this type of material. Shame on Verizon for wanting to charge the person receiving these TXT messages. I have done nothing wrong, but am the one being punished. Suggestions I have been given are to change my number. I have had this number since 1997 why would I want to do this. My list of contact is very long and it would be a painful process for me to reach out to each one of them giving them my new number.
Verizon needs to look at their policy when it comes to blocking numbers. I am the victim of these TXT messages and Verizon is treating me no different than the person sending this pornographic material. If I had the time and resources I would hire an attorney and bring this to the public's attention.
