Old messages randomly inserted into new texts?

On rare occurrences--say once every 200 texts or so--the person I text will report that I send a text that makes absolutely zero sense. The text will show as normal within my Messaging app, but on the recipient's phone it'll be fine until around 160 characters, then it'll take a random old text message and jumble the words around there.

I've been able to narrow it down to happening under these conditions:

The text I send is over 160 characters
I'm sending the text to an iPhone

Outside of those conditions, there's no rhyme or reason to it happening.

I've tried the following fixes:

Disabling Google Hangouts
Disabling the VZW Messaging+ app
Keeping the Samsung Messages app as the default messaging service
Ensuring I have no signature enabled
Ensuring old messages (>1000) are deleted

Can someone please assist with this? It's rather frustrating when my girlfriend reports I sent nonsense and I have no idea what she was talking about.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated! Let's look into this. When did the problem begin? Does the issue only happen with her or when you send messages to all iPhone's?

has there been any resolution to this issue? i have the same issue repeatedly. just today alone 4 messages were juxtaposed with old text sent many months ago. i need a resolution to this problem.

Hi Rcierniak,

Its crucial to have your device up and working properly at all times. Lets get this fixed. When did the issue begin? Have you attempted a soft reset of the device? If so try placing the device in Safe Mode and tell me if the issue still happens http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-152448/ .

Hi Pamela, I have placed the device in Safe Mode and it still does the

issue. I also did a complete factory reset of the phone and it still occurs

as well.

i don't know an exact date this began, but i was first alerted to strange,

jumbled texts about 6 months ago. it was very random, was infrequent

(previously was maybe once a month), but this last week alone the issue

happened 4 times.

two days ago i cleared out all my texts, cleared the cache and restarted

the phone. i haven't been told if message are still being jumbled.

also - as another issue, when i press the power button on the htc to get

the menu for "restart (close all apps and restart phone)", "power off (shut

phone down)", "kid mode" or "airplane mode", when i choose the restart

feature, the running applications do not close. the apps that are running

as i restart the phone are still running in the background when the phone

powers back on. This issue started with the second to last system update.

I constantly close running apps all day long to keep battery life.
