Messages+ on Mac Desktop - How to use proxy settings?

Folks:

Has anyone had success using the Mac desktop Messages+ App going through a proxy server?

Now that the app is installed, it won't sync or send messages. Just sits there.

I am able to successfully use the web app with my http proxy server. I just thought

it would be easier to switch to the desktop app.

I haven't been able to use the desktop app on a Windows computer thru a proxy either. It doesn't have any menu to set/change any proxy setting from within the app. Until they add that capability I don't think you will be able to do so. I simply use the web interface.
