How do you sync your contacts to the desktop app?
Make sure your contacts are listed under the Verizon Account inside the phone's contact menu. If not, you'll need to export a csv file from wherever you have them (Gmail sometimes) and then import that file into your Verizon Contacts either in My Verizon or the Verizon Cloud or on the phone.
