Galaxy S5 - this morning's update caused me to get message, "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped."

I accepted a system update this morning. Now, when I go to make a call, I can do nothing because of the "Contacts has stopped" message.

I have emptied every cache.

I have done a factory reset.

I have tried removing my battery.

I have turned of rotate screen.

I have tried to double check that my contacts are backed onto my Gmail account. The download file appears to be empty, however. I do still have contact on my phone. I really don't know how to make sure they are backed up somewhere else.

I have uninstalled Google+.

I don't know how to check what is syncing and where.

Please help. I cannot access any recent calls, nor can I make any outgoing calls.

Let's get your phone calls functioning again. Thank you for completing all of those troubleshooting steps already. Were you able to test the device before adding any information back once you completed the Factory Data Reset? You can also try testing in safe mode here; http://vz.to/1p3r5B2.
