I want to buy Moto X 2nd Gen with Football Leather model, Can anyone please tell which animal leather is used in that phone?
Below is the link to phone i am talking about
Motorola Moto X (2nd Gen.) | Verizon Wireless
I figured as much, but didn't want to assume. You should not buy this phone with this leather option. It is pigskin.
If it's genuine, then its pig. Like a football. Pigskin. Otherwise, it's synthetic Pleather, as in plastic leather, but looks like pigskin.
Thanks a lot Snn5
Is it possible that i ca get some proof or any official statement from Verizon about the animal used for the leather?
Thanks again

Says genuine leather.
Incidentally, why does the species of animal matter? Is it more about the animal, or whether it's real or not?
Its about the animal. Muslims are not allowed to use items/products that contains anything from pig.
I would think Motorola, the phone manufacturer, would have the information on what species of animal was used to create the leather back. Verizon Wireless is just providing a way to purchase the device.
I don't believe footballs were made of "pig"skin for a very long time. It's leather but not pigskin leather. It's just a term that hasn't went away.
My point to the OP is that, in a religious setting and within the confines of that doctrine, what looks like a sinful thing may be considered as such. Why parade around an item that, while might be fake, still represents and mimics a genuine item? Newer footballs are covered in steer hide. My advice would be to do as one wishes, perhaps cow or otherwise, perhaps the same pattern is used. But, someone will bring it up and the misconception must be defended.
