I would like to extend the storage of my device by adding a microSD memory card. However, the slot is already taken up by Verizon's microSIM card.
Does anyone know of a solution to this? Can I get a non-micro-simcard from Verizon?
Since you posted this in the Galaxy S5 space, I'm assuming that's the phone you have? If so, you can add an SD card by removing the back of the phone and then the battery, i.e.,
How to insert and replace the SD card on the Galaxy S5 | Android Central
If you have a Galaxy S6, though, there isn't an option to add a memory card.
Thanks for your response!
Yes, it is an S5.
I know how to open it and insert it, however, like I said in my original post, the slot is already taken up by Verizon's microSIM card. So I am wondering if there is either a memory card that fits the other slot (the larger non-micro slot) or if I can get a non-micro sim card from Verizon so that I can free up the micro slot.
There are actually two slots there, one for the SIM card and one for an SD card. You'll need to purchase a micro SD memory card; they're widely available at places like Amazon.
I know that there are two slots in there. One is a larger slot and the other one is a micro slot. Now, the problem is that the micro slot is already taken up by the micro SIM card.
Hmm, when I looked at it it just didn't look like two cards would fit in ithere, but I guess I was wrong. Thanks for your patience! I'll try it again and see if it works.
You're welcome. Even though it shows in the video that you don't have to remove the battery to insert/remove the SD card, I always found it easier with the battery out.
