My phone has been turning off and sometimes restarting itself. Last night, it restarted itself and when it came back on, it was reset to factory settings. I lost everything!! What to do?
Again, if you factory reset it without backing up your app data and app restore it may prevent it from happening in the future.
You can get a new phone, but my guess is you're still under contract so you'd have to pay full price for it, or buy a used one.
You could also use your insurance if you have it, or the manufactures warranty if the device is less than 12 months old. Just keep in mind you'll get a refurbished device or a certified pre-owned.
The only way to get a brand new phone is to buy it.
Did you use a cloud service like Verizon cloud or Google drive? You can restore your information from there. I personally have my contacts associated with my e-mail address, so when I sign in and sync my e-mail contacts it automatically loads them.
I've been plannign my wedding and have saved so many pictures to my phone for ideas. My contacts and pictures were backed up to my cloud storage, but it's been full since may so nothing else saved since then. Maybe there's some sort of virus on my phone....
If it's only happened once, it's doubtful. Unfortunately sometimes this just happens randomly. Since it's already factory reset, I would do it once more and with an extra step. What device do you have?
Note 4. It's been restarting itself randomly the last week or so but this time it reset itself. I'm pretty pissed about loosing everything. I'd rather just get another phone, rather than risk it happening again.
