Cant receive International Texts

I'm having an issue with receiving text messages from my spouse in australia. I have a Zerizon wireless, LG env2 phone, with the unlimited texting plan, i'm able to send texts to her, but for some reason I cant receive the ones she sends. Her service provider is Optus, and she's called & checked with them and the messages she sends are confirmed to have been sent, and to the correct number (country code, area code), and charged for them, but they don't seem to be getting threw on my end. Any help or ideas? It doesnt make sense to me to be able to send them but unable to receive.

The problem is that you have Zerizon wireless. They're terrible! Hah!

I agree with you that it doesn't make sense if she receives your messages but you don't get hers. If I were troubleshooting this, I would like to see if you could get your wife to send my VZW phone a message to see if I can get it. I want to know whether the problem is on your account/phone, is there a problem between the handoff from the Australian carrier to VZW, or whether it's a widespread VZW network issue.

My advice is to contact technical support from a different phone, have yours with you, at 800-922-0204 or *611 from a different VZW mobile. Provided that your account is set up correctly and provisioned without any blocks on the switch, they will probably have to file a trouble ticket with an ETA of probably 5 - 7 days.

Thanks for the advice, I was hoping for an answer without having to call, but it looks like i'm going to have to. It's also nice to see that another person shares the same problem, so it's not just my self.

I also have the same problem. Phone is LG chocolate touch and sending to Indonesia.

There is 1 out the 3 numbers that I tried actually worked.

Called Verizon cust service, I was told that I don't have International text message provisioning. She set it up,

but a day later it is still failed to send and receive.

There is no such thing as international text message provisioning. SMS is either allow all originating and terminating, or block originating and terminating. Voice, yes, there is international provisioning. Something else is going on.

That is right. I called to cust. service again and this time the cust. service said the same thing, that text message already available to send internationally by default. I spoke to Technical service and he mentioned that Verizon can only text msg to 2 providers in Indonesia. He filed a ticket and still working on this problem.

i got the same problem too, though in my particular circumstance, messages are not coming in from dubai. i have an env3. not sure if it's the phone blocking it, but i've opened up a trouble ticket as well. will keep this thread posted as this is extremely frustrating. they can send sms to other vz phones though.

I have had the same issue when I moved from AT&T to Verizon. I couldn't text to India and they couldn't send me one back.

I even called tech support had them trace the SMS from US to India and they said it is fine. My understanding is that the carrier in the destination country should have an agreement or a contract from the sender's service provider which in this case is Verizon.

I am having a similar issue from Qatar. I tried to send my wifes verizon pearl a txt and she didn't receive it. I use Qtel in Qatar. My buddy received the txt I sent him and he uses AT&T. So annoying, I only got the cell so I could txt my wife *sigh*

Click here https://text1.vzw.com/text/jsp/txtintl_viewall.jsp# to get the country codes and instructions on how to send a international text message. If the messages that the recipient sends does not come through to the Verizon Wireless device, then the problem is with the international carrier.
