Reset data compromised

My Samsung 3 just restarted itself. When it came back on, there was a message saying I needed to reset my device & all data would be lost. I didn't click on reset, instead I popped the battery off & restarted it that way. The message didn't come back up & phone is working fine. Any ideas what that message is all about?

I would be concerned too if my phone did that out of the blue. Do you have your device backed up? I would highly recommend backing it up just in case anything happens to the phone. Once you are backed up, make sure you have everything up to date.
