Galaxy S6 heating up

I got my new s6 today . It really heats up during charging and also during normal use like email, phone calls. GSAM app show temp of 96 during normal use and 102 during charging and update. Max temp is around the power switch. It is really uncomfortable when I am on a phone call.

I took it verizon store and they checked the battery health and said it is ok.

Has anyone had same experience? Verizon store people said that no one had reported similar issues.

Mine does get quite hot when using the Adaptive Fast Charger that came with my phone, but that's because it's charging it at a higher speed than normal. If you use a regular 1Amp charger it will not get so hot.

Also, mine gets warm when using it but with a case it's not really noticeable.

It is normal for the phone to get warmer when being using, especially during charging. The temperature you are reporting are within normal range. Has there been any physical or liquid damage to the phone? Are you having issues with the phone when it gets warmer?

Thanks for your comment. There is no physical or liquid damage to the phone. It is just uncomfortable holding the phone while on phone call. It heats up maximum around the power button. It is much bearable now that I have case on the phone. Other than that I really like the phone.

For me my phone was overheating, the battery temp was always in range, the cpu temp however measured using cpuid was at 170F, so don't let the bozos base this off battery temp alone. I was getting constant overheating/cooling down messages too. I eventually found a solution to this myself. Turn power save mode on. This will force the Processors governor to scale down but will allow for full GPU use. The problem is whatever app you have is causing your CPU to max out while it's running as well as your GPU. If setting power save mode to on works, you might want to turn it off and then wipe your partition cache. You can lookup the instructions on how to do that. I would also try to narrow down what app is coded badly causing this. From looking into this further, certain apps that are written for IOS and then converted to android don't convert the x64 libraries properly and cause the issue. The S6 is one of the first mainstream x64 android phones. I found a few apps that would do this and it was always the case after I reached out to their developers. Overheating all the time though can damage your phone, it did mine, I eventually after a month of ownership had to have my S6 replaced as the radios would just die after an overheat scenario. So if you have a similar issue I would press Verizon for a replacement as much as they hate to do it, Samsung did suck at designing the chassis, they should have put a piece of aluminum from the top over the CPU to the base to extend the cooling of the phone.
