Blackberry 8830 Word Edition Emergency Calls

I have made several accidental emergency calls while the phone was locked and in my pocket.  When it is locked, you are only a few accidental hits of the trackball away from making an accidental emergency call.

 

Is there any way to disable or alter the emergency call feature while the phone is locked to prevent this from happening again?

Robert,

My suggestion is to not put the device in your pocket.  I would recommend a holster of some sort.  Two reasons, one for the accidental dialing of numbers as you stated, and two, you are at risk for damaging your screen with it in your pocket.
