blackberry storm help

i received an email today saying a software update to help enhance the performance on your blackberry storm is now available. from your computer go to www.verizonwireless.com/storm and select software download and follow the on screen instructions.. note a computer is required to perform this upgrade..

is this a hoax because i went to it and i did what it said but it told me that my service provider wasn't available..

if anyone can help

Do you have a Blackberry Storm 9530 from Verizon Wireless??

There was a software update released this past Sunday October 25th. It updates you to verision 5.0.0.328.

You can check two places for the download: http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry or sync your phone with the Blackberry Desktop Manager and it should automatically alert you to a new update available.
