Playing music while recording comes out with awful audio!

I use Snapchat and video alot on my s5 and I always play music in the background while I record. Recently, while I record, the music on the video sounds very muffled and distored. I've tried everything from clearing my music app data to rebooting my phone and nothing has worked. I don't believe water is the problem because 1. it is a water resistant phone and 2. the regular audio like when I talk during a video sounds perfectly fine. I'd love some help.

haydenp, that is very strange. Let's get the audio working so you can start recording again. When did this happen? Are the applications updated? Is there a case on the device?

there is a case on the phone and everything seemed to update this morning. however I have had the case on the phone since I got it. I did take a nasty fall yesterday riding a bike and my phone was in my pocket. could that have knocked it around and maybe tripped up something?

That is certainly a possibility, haydenp. I would recommend trying it without the case, just to see if it improves. If it began after the fall though, it may have damaged the internal components of your device.
