S6 has started disconnecting from cellular network randomly

Since the last software update last week, my Galaxy S6 will now randomly disconnect from the Verizon network so that calls, texts can't be received or sent, and it won't connect to the internet.

Restarting the phone fixes this problem temporarily. Then a day or so later I'll realize it's happening again.

Any ideas?

I am having the same issue since the update last week also.. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and will randomly disconnect from the Verizon network and I will have to power off phone and will send my texts and get internet access...very frustrating ...help please.

We can help! There was mention of this issue occuring after a software update. Have you attempted checking for updates once again? Please also power the device down, remove the SIM, reinsert, and power the phone back on.

I just received my replacement S6 today. As soon as I did all the updates it disconnected from 4G and I only have 2 to 3 bars signal strength. The phone that was replaced did the same thing after the updates, since it was 2 weeks old, they replaced it. Now, my new one is doing the same thing. It had 4G and full signal strength before the updates. I live in town, so I always have full bars and 4G. What do I do now?

Let's figure this out. Have you tried restarting in safe mode?

I'm seeing lots of posts regarding this issue on the forum, all seem to relate to the software update. My latest phone call with Verizon tonight, I'm told to do a software repair, either myself using their program, or see a Samsung rep in a Best Buy store. I'm not optimistic.

Wiped the cache partition five days ago, and so far it hasn't happened to me again. Maybe it's fixed?

Started happening again today, [Profanity removed as required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] I can't believe Verizon/Samsung isn't addressing this with more than the same old rote advice to do a factory reset. I really don't believe that will fix the problem and I don't want to have to reinstall everything.

Can someone post if a reset has fixed this issue? Thanks!

Same happening here. On mine, wife's and neighbors... I've removed all WiFi networks, cleared the cache, tried the Smart Network Switch (on AND off!) also tried with the signal booster on and off....

I don't really want to rebuild the phone as I think that something was released in a recent update.

It's painful to know that your phone will need a reboot each time you leave the house....

Unless it's a ploy to have Verizon enforce that their end users use the Verizon network......which would be fine if we actually had a signal here!

A fix as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated!!

I have 3 S6's doing this, mine, my wife's, and my son's. I have done a factory reset and it did not fix the issue. They started doing this after the last software update. This is awesome I am paying for a phone that is not working correctly. Maybe Verizon should reimburse me the cost of the phone until this gets fixed.

This is a work around that is working for me...I turn off wifi. Then power off phone...power back on without ever turning on wifi and haven't lost signal for 3 days in a row...new record since the last software update...hope this helps.

My problem is when on wifi then you leave wifi it will not connect to the mobile data network. What I have to do is either toggle airplane mode, which usually works, or reboot the phone. I have started forgetting wifi hotspots other than my home since I do not get a cell phone signal, I have a network extender. I emailed samsung and they told me "For the phone to connect to the Mobile data automatically when disconnected from Wi-Fi network, Smart network switch feature should be enabled on the phone." This helped a bit but before the update I did not have this enabled nor did I need it. The phone would drop off the wifi and connect to mobile data without any problem.

Thing is, if I turn off WiFi, then I am only using data and this can get expensive.

We are having to reboot our phones everytime they come away from any WiFi network, and I mean any. Theis even happens from leaving my work WiFi.

Last update was on the 11th Dec (G920VVRU4BOK7) see below.
