I backed up everything from the S4 to Verizon Cloud before, but I guess it doesn't back up apps?
do you still have the S4? I find Samsung smart switch works great. It uses NFC to move all your apps and data to the new phone. The app can be downloadEd on both phones and activated on one and it will walk you through it.
otherwise, when you first activate your new phone, it should have the Verizon startup to restore your backup.
if you are past that, you can still get all the apps from google play store. Tap the menu bars and select "my apps and games" then it will list all your past downloads on the device and not on the device.
