S6 with very slow sensitivity

Mine and my wife's S6 (2 months old) has developed a terrible sensitivity issue. The phones do not respond unless we continue to tap on a letter or number. I can hit any icon on the phone and it's as if it doesn't recognize it. I have cleared the cache, rebooted, tried Safe Mode and everything short of a factory reset. Very frustrating. I was reading on Android Central and the same issue has been discussed since last April. Has anyone found this issue to be present on their phone? If so, have you been able to get the phone to be more responsive?

Randallg, we are sorry to hear that you and your wife are having this issue with your new phones? For you both to be experiencing the same issue is very odd. Have you done a software update recently? When did this start happening?

Yes, we have both phones up to date on updates. The issues started within the last month. I have apps on my phone that she doesn't have and we have the exact same issues when scrolling, texting and basically anything that requires a touch from a finger. I literally can't text anymore by hand and have to speak everything. If we try to scroll or swipe up or down, it takes 2-3 attempts each time to move the page up or down. Is there anyway we can trade these in at a Verizon store and get the S5? My daughters each have an S5 and have no issues. There is no way we can use these phones for another 22 months without having to take anger management classes. I truly can't believe we are the only people experiencing this issue. Please see what you can do to get us into an S5,,,PLEASE

We are using the Otterbox Defender cases. We took them off as a last resort and the phones are working great. We have used Otterbox cases on our S3 and never had any issues. Will try a cheap rubber case at a mall kiosk and see if they still work well since the naked phone is too slippery.

The Otterbox Defender screen protectors are usually the issue with touch sensitivity, either that or the snap on front is too tight. Most people have begun to remove the built-in protector and use a stick on type instead. However, a tempered glass screen protector will not fit under the snap on front cover.
