I have a Samsung 5 and I am having the same issue, all of a sudden my phone won't charge and a burnt smell comes out when I try to plug it in. I get the following message: "The connected charger is incompatible with this phone. To prevent damage to your phone, charging has been stopped. To continue charging, use the original charger and cable that were provided with the phone. I tried charging it directly from my computer and the exact same thing happens. It heats up very fast and a burnt smell comes out plus the message mentioned above.
Any suggestions?
