I did not post this in a specific forum because I've had VZW MMS issues for years, regardless of which device I use. Only now is it getting beyond ridiculous (people have been complaining for me to get this fixed) so I am am seeking some help.
I've primarily been an Android device user, but I have also experienced this same issue on Blackberry and Windows...it seems the issue is account-related, not device-related.
Basically, I can send MMS messages okay (as far as I know), but receiving them is a problem.
- Single-recipient MMS/picture messages (messages sent between myself and only 1 other person): I sometimes receive their picture, but it is always delayed - hours if not days or even weeks later...yes weeks, seriously. Sometimes I don't receive them at all. If they send a picture accompanied with text, I'll receive the text portion right away, but not the image.
- Group messages: I never receive all the messages within the group. Often, the only way I know I DID receive a group message is because I'll receive someone in the group's reply to the initial message, but have no idea what they're talking about. Sometimes I'll eventually receive the initial message, but usually not.
This presents a problem, as my kids participate in sports and the coaches primarily use group texts as a way for communicating with all the parents at once. I have missed game cancellation texts, game change texts, etc. It's upsetting and aggravating.
Again, this same problem has occurred on every device I've ever owned with Verizon. There hasn't been a device yet where I did NOT have issues. I can't say how far back this has occurred, as MMS and group messaging has only really become a popular messaging method over the last few years.
Right now, I'm using Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with the stock messaging app. I've also had the Galaxy S4, HTC Rezound, Blackberry Tour, Motorola X, LG Envy 2....I've used both stock messaging apps and Play store messaging apps - nothing helps. I have MMS msgs auto-retrieve, grouped and ungrouped group conversations, had wifi on and off, factory reset...nothing. I've lived in two different states, both with good 3G and 4G coverage...so I'm at a loss.
From what I've seen, Verizon Wireless customers with similar issues have had Verizon tech support perform some kind of messaging box rebuild or line account rebuild to fix the issue.
Where do I go to request that be performed on my line? There are four lines on my VZW account, but only mine has MMS issues.
