can't find unopened email??

My Blackberry shows an unread/unopened email at the top left of the screen.  I've searched all folders available and can't find it.  Any clue as to how I can find the email and read/delete?  All mail in inbox shows read and all other folders show the same.

Hello, Yeah I've had that happen to me once and it was a voicemail message in which I had already listen to so what I did was just erased voice messages and problem solved. The message on top isn't always from emails check other if not voicemail maybe it could from pin level 1 see the setting for alert check how you have set to receive alerts etc....
