Well, IMO the Classic better looking watch, and has better options for the bands. Is there any possibility that I could exchange the Gear S2 that I can get with the preorder of the GS7 for a Gear S2 Classic? Or do I have to put it on ebay?
Makes me happy to learn that you are thinking about getting the GS7. I hope that you enjoy the phone and the watch. You will only be able to get the accessory that is advertised. Ther is no current offer to switch it to the S2 Classic. I hope that this information is helpful. Thank you also for being an awsome customer.

The promotion is fulfilled via Samsung, not Verizon. Your best bet is to sell it although that's kind of a [Removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] move because there are plenty of people that would be thoroughly happy with the regular gear s2 that might not be able to get one because there's only 300,000 units available for the promotion.
I suppose more of a d move is having only 300,000. I know the only reason I went directly with Verizon for the pre-order was the Gear S2. I'll be pretty POd if I don't get one. There were plenty of places offering the VR with something else (gift cards, memory, etc.).
And by no means would I be unhappy to have the Gear S2, but the Classic is a much nicer looking device. If I could somehow finagle a deal to get it, I will. That's all I'm saying.
No you will not be able to.
Wanted to add Samsung is 300K VR on each carrier they allocated. The rest is from the carriers that bought into the promo, and added their own thing. Carriers also have their own inventory. Samsung said those numbers are actually grossly under-estimated the day after preorders started and people read the rules.
Try taking the S2 to an authorized V store and see what they can do. Likely though, if you took delivery and activated the watch you are stuck with it. And honestly, if you read the fine print, if you wait longer than 14 days and deactivate the free watch you will have to pay the early termination fee even if you sell it. You should still come out on top. That is to say, if the S2 you received has it's own 3G data plan. If it doesn't then it is yours to do with what you want.
You should wait until you hear people crying there are none left and sell them for a profit. Just tuck them away to keep them new looking. Capitalism isn't always moral, but it can be legal........
