Droid X and data

I was reading something the other day that said Verizon is keeping unlimited data for the Droid X. Good job Verizon keeping customers from At&t. I keep hearing that they are going to eventually have their own data cap. I know this is a Droid X forum. I have had my Droid X for four days now and love it. I need the X for school purposes and I believe that if Verizon adds a data cap it will knock the value of owning a smartphone out for me I am simply suggesting that you do not do this. It will hurt Verizon business, as well as kill an industry that is flourishing right now.

I don't think there is currently any truth to this.

Explanation:

At&t runs on a GSM signal, VZW runs on a CDMA signal. The largest difference between the two technologies is that the CDMA has more room to grow as well from what I have read, it can support more data users.

At&t recently ended their "Unlimited Internet" because it was unable to provide this service, in large cities a small percentage of the users were eating a large chunk of the available data network.

Another little tid-bit people may be unaware of, when a company makes a change like this and requires existing users to modify their current contracts, the user can opt-out of the contract at no expense.

Data Cap is more than likely not that far away... When? I don't know but I'm sure if we ask we'll get the best answer given now days.. That answer is, "possibly soon". :smileyindifferent:

In my opinion the Mobile Hotspot feature is probally one of the reasons for the larger amount of data basically but the thing that I dont get how can the data usuage be a issue when they alread included a fee for use of this feature... Sounds like the usual situation all over again, a company make a change to their plan and no major outcome comes from them doing it another company always follows.

Makes no since to add a feature for the customers and then try to burn them for using what they pay for... Its always something isnt it.
