Can I retrieve old photos by switching the SIM card?

i lost some photos when moving from Galaxy SIII mini to iPhone SE. Can I take the SIM card out of the old phone & insert it in my Ellipsis7 tablet to retrieve the photos?

Pictures are not stored on the SIM card. They might be on the SD card or the phone's internal memory space. You can transfer them to a computer with the USB cable and then transfer them to the tablet the same way.
