with both default & verizon messaging apps, any alternatives??
I figured it out man. Long press on the gear icon next to the space bar and
then select the microphone.
I'm having the same problem. Upgraded last night and the mic on the samsung default keyboard is gone.
Until it's fixed, I recommend changing your default keyboard to the Swype keyboard and you will get the mic button. Not ideal, but a temporary fix until they get their [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] together.
