New Samsung S7 Edge lock screen changed automatically?

I was using my phone quite a bit this morning, which required me to enter my lock screen pattern. I did so successfully. Then after being away for just a couple minutes, with no one near my phone, when I entered my lock screen pattern it said that I had entered an incorrect pattern? How can this be? Did my lock screen pattern automatically change to a default pattern?

In case this happens to anyone else, I powered down my phone and left it off for about 30 minutes.  I then restarted, and the lock screen pattern had gone back to the code that I originally set.  Weirdest thing I've ever encountered.
