Has anyone received this update. Read it's been released for about 5 days now, for the Galaxy Series and haven't got any kind of notifications yet. Check back 2-3 times a day.
The update is out for the S6 and S6 Edge but not the S6 Edge Plus.
I have a Galaxy S6, I did the update yesterday, charged my phone back to 100% and the battery has continually been draining at a fast rate. Overnight, I charge my phone on a wireless pad and it didn't even charge all the way last night. Turned it off this morning and it could charge up to 100%. When I took it off at 7am the battery usage said it would continually drain and be empty by 1pm. I've continued my power saving and auto screen brightness, and the battery still drains. The Andoid system has taken up the most battery usage. There's other little glitchy things with the update too. I'd wait until they come out with a fixed update
Read that the battery drainage was bad with this update. Was hoping they fixed and that's why took so long with getting it out.
I would advise against doing the update yet given all the problems with OS 6.0.
We want to take the time to thank you all for being a member of the forums. We have been in contact with Samsung and the software team.
There are several things that may impact battery life, specifically after an operating system upgrade or software update: After a software update or Operating System upgrade, certain parts of the memory system may be altered/optimized/cleared depending on the specific update in question. The application memory areas may have to be optimized. This can take time and cause the device to temporarily use more battery while the optimization is in progress. It can take time for the new software to optimize its performance and for the devices battery life to normalize. Downloaded applications may not be optimized for the new OS version. This may result in higher than normal battery drain until the application is updated or removed.
Please test the devices in safe mode to ensure the concern is application related and if battery life improve.

I updated my phone 6 days ago and still have significantly low battery life and need to charge my phone twice a day, where prior to the update I could get by 1 full day of battery life before having to charge. It still takes significantly longer to charge on the wireless port, and does not even charge completely through the night where it could before. I look at my battery usage and it doesn't appear that any personal apps are causing this issue, rather it is the Arndoid OS that has used 31% of battery life, Google play services 12%, Android System 9% and my non-android apps following with 5% or less. I turned my phone on in safe mode and the battery still decreases at a fast rate.
We appreciate all that you've done! May I ask how long the device was in Safe Mode for? What type of battery drain did you see once in Safe Mode?
