Can not get Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge to hook up to computer so I can download pictures

I have been trying for days to get pictures off of my new Samsung Galaxy s 7 edge and it has been a nightmare. When I connect with USB the phone says there is no connection. I need to update software on my computer but it won't recognize the phone. Need help!!!!!

Pull down the notification screen at the top and select the charging method that Ann154 mentioned and then select one of the other options listed. That will allow it to be seem by the computer to transfer photos etc.

The default connection method is charging only. Have you tried changing the connection type from the phone's notification shade?
