I was looking for my Samsung remote controls in security settings and it seems verizon has removed it , I loved this feature on my s6 and wasn't very happy to not see it on s7.

This is the settings on the phone itself.
l.
According to Samsung customer service, this feature was removed by the carrier, aka Verizon.
To clarify, there is no way to access Settings > Security > "Find My Mobile" settings on the S7 Edge phone, because Verizon chose to disable it for some unknown reason.
I think Greg and myself and probably others, would like to know why this feature was removed, and would like to have it back.
I agree. Why not enable Find My Mobile? Please enable.
are you folks using verizon protection service??
Yes , but it does not have the capability to remotely enable the gps on the phone like find my mobile.
i don't recall ever being able to remotely enable gps,it's got to be on to find it.
With FMM as long as mobile data or WiFi is on it enables location for a second on its own. I just tried it on my s5 and if you have the pull down menu open you see location switch on for a second.
What about using the google/andoid security? As long as you have a google acct and gps is on in the phone you can sign into your google acct and locate the phone, wipe it and alarm it. Android device manager.
Greggpru22, keeping your phone safe is something we all worry about these days. The S7 is no different. Please follow these steps to register and activate the device for the Find My Mobile service:
1. Ensure you're signed in with your Samsung account.Note To add a Samsung account, navigate: Apps > Settings > (Accounts) Add Account > Samsung account then follow the prompts.
2. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Lock screen and security.
3. Tap Find My Mobile.
4. Enter the Samsung account password then tap Confirm (located in the lower-right).
5. Tap Remote controls switch to turn on Switch On icon or off Switch Off icon.
6. Tap Google location service to turn on or off.
7. Tap Reactivation lock to turn on or off.Note Reactivation lock prevents the missing device from being reactivated.Note The reactivation lock must be turned off before a warranty return.
8. From the Reactivation lock prompt, tap OK.

Gwan0001,
I see that their were many replies to assist you in locating the device. I wanted to check back to see if you have had any success in finding the phone? If not, I was wondering if you were able to check in with Samsung to locate the device? http://spr.ly/6583BcqBf

Has there been any update to this question? Find My Mobile is an important function and should be enabled on all Samsung phones. It is the only way that I've found to locate your phone if location services are turned off. Removing this service is unreasonable. Verizon: please enable Find My Phone!!!
Would like to know if anyone found a way to remotely turn on GPS (like FMM was able to do).
Thanks.
Umm, i wasnt the original poster. I didnt lose a device. Sooo, what are you talking about?
Why does Verizon continually disable everything useful Samsung does? It's ridiculous!
My guess is that Find My Mobile was removed by Verizon because they offer the ability to lock, unlock, and wipe your phone remotely, if you sign-up and pay a monthly fee for their Total Mobile Premium service.
Basically, they want to charge you a monthly fee to have access to a popular feature that used to be free.
I'm also very disappointed to see this feature missing. For the sake of saving battery, I turn my GPS on only when I need it for something. So the ability offered by FMM, to locate the phone even if GPS was not enabled when I misplaced it, is crucial. I'm sure I'm far from alone in this practice. And we shouldn't have to pay an additional fee for a feature that is readily available for free.
I misplaced my phone once and FMM was able to locate my phone quickly while Android Device Manager was still searching. Can we petition Verizon to put this feature back?
marvinsun I'm so sorry you have misplaced your phone. Hang in there I'm sure you will be able to locate it. As for the FMM, I'll forward your feed back to the appropriate team. We alawys welcome suggestions from our loyal customers.

Download the app Android Device Manager. It's exactly what you're looking for and it's free.
Personally, I think disabling features such as Find My Mobile is ludacris. Shame on you Verizon.
I fully agree. I do not want to get ripped off by Verizon anymore than I already do. I do not use their services and do not want to be pressured into using them, and they have to pay for them. Verizon, this is a very easy thing to fix, don't block the "find my mobile" feature that samsung provides. Why is this hard to comprehend? This feature is not found under the security settings. It can not be done on my S7. I understand you have a bunch of preloaded verizon bloatware duplicate message [Removed] that no one wants to use. It sucks, that is why. Please offer phones that do not limit what we can do. Verizon, if you don't understand what I am saying, let me know and I will explain it again.

You could have also chosen to purchase an unlocked version of the phone or another phone model that is unlocked to use on any carrier.
Now that I know verizon limits what we can use on the phones I certainly will NOT buy from them again. Unlocked it is.
