Moving apps to the SD card on S7 Edge.

I've read several articles about how to move apps to the SD card on the S7, but my phone doesn't seem to have the same menus as the articles describe. And it's not the native apps that I'm trying to move, it's apps that I've downloaded. Does anyone know how to do this on the Verizon S7?

you guys are looking at the exact same app? Developers have a choice if they want it to be moved or not. Carriers don't dictate this at all.

With a microSD card installed, launch the Settings app.

Find and select Storage from the list of options.

Tap on Internal storage.

Select Apps.

Locate the app you'd like to move, and tap on it.

Under the "Storage Used" section, tap on the Change button and select SD Card. Note that some apps cannot be moved.

Thank you for the response. I've tried this, but no where do I have a "Storage Used" section. When I follow the instructions you've provided: Settings-->Storage -

>Internal Storage ---> Apps ... when I select the App, there's a gray bar across the screen just below the App name that says "Storage" (not "Storage Used"), and it's not clickable (at least, there's no response when I try to click it).

Below this gray bar along the left side it says Total, App, Data, and on the right there are corresponding memory values (ex. 46.45 MB). Below this there's a button that says "CLEAR DATA", below that it says Cache and a value, and then a button that says "CLEAR CACHE".

To the right of the app name, there's a lower case i in a blue circle. Clicking on this brings up the Application Info screen, but again, there's no option to change the storage location.

There's nothing else on this screen.

Thanks so much for your interest in this great feature. I'll be happy to offer you some support on how to make this function. I know this is an important feature for many of our customers. Give this a shot. For some devices, the memory card you are using has been set up to be recognized as phone storage.This only happens the first time a card is powered up in the phone, and can only happen if the card is completely empty. If you've stored anything on the card, you will have to completely wipe it, remove it, and then restart the phone without the card. After this, power back off and reinsert the card and then power up again. At this time, you should be prompted to use the card as phone storage. Once that's done, you'll get the options you've been missing. If you have information on that card that you don't want to use, I would recommend transferring it somewhere else before wiping it or get a new card to use with this device. Thanks for the resonse, but this solution is hardly appealing. First, I've already spent several days putting the information that I want on this card. Now I'll have to back that up somewhere, wipe this card, remove it, turn the phone on, turn the phone off, put the card back in, turn the phone on, and "hope" the SD card is now recognizable as phone storage. That's a lot of work for something that you suggest "give this a shot." What if it doesn't work?

You're basically telling me to use a feature that Samsung consciously decided not to make available. It doesn't make me comfortable. Perhaps you could explain why my phone seems to have different menus than others?

Also, this comment from DroidLife, is very concerning:

AND now for the biggy; "My Files" file manager (or any 3rd party file manager in Play Store) can't see the main memory to even move it to the SD card w/ Adaptive Memory turned on. You can no longer use a file manager to explore your main memory. Pull the SD card even with the phone off and you just lost all the data that was on it. Put it back in and boot it up and you'll be asked whether you want to reformat it and use Adaptive Storage again, as if it had never been reformatted. That's because this isn't like RAID array on PC's and if it's used with UFS 2.0 memory it has to use two different controllers. It uses eMMC controller for SD card memory and UFS 2.0 Memory controller for the phone's main memory. The conflicts are too many too count. You have main memory that is not only fast, but is capable of many features only available to SSD drives or slots (UHS-II) that no phone maker seems to be able to put in phones. These new slots do have the extra row of pins and backwards compatibility with old slow last gen UHS-I memory cards. Plus this one major addition to the equation. UHS-1 slots are half duplex read or write only in one direction at a time. UHS-II cards and slots can do Full Duplex Simultaneous READ and WRITE!!!

Not all apps can me moved to the SD card. The developer of the app has to allow it. If the developer allows it you should see when in the storage section of your application manager a option at the top to move from internal to external.

Thanks. I know not all apps can be moved, but I'm trying to move apps that I succesfully moved on my S5. The problem is, when I go to Application Manager and then select the app, when I click "Storage", the only options on the next menu are "CLEAR DATA" or "CLEAR CACHE". There's no option to change the Storage.

@charlie2222, I also like the option to be able to move apps to the SD card as well. Are the apps you said that you moved apps that you installed or are these preinstalled apps ?

Only apps that I installed. I don't think any of the preinstalled apps can be moved.
