My picture when i go into messaging is one of my friends and i have no idea how to change it can someone tell how too.

That picture is saved under your own contact. For yourself, there is a contact saved, and one you can't remove for that matter, so you should find it under your name. When you first set up your phone, in the initial set-up menu, you entered your name, and that is the name that 'you' are under in your own contact list. Go to that contact, and then edit the photo like you would for any other contact.
