How do I set the number of rings before voicemail picks up?

You can't change it. It is set to 30 seconds at the system level for the entire Verizon Wireless network.

Sometimes a different ringtone helps people hear the phone is announcing a call.

Sometimes a different ringtone helps people hear the phone is announcing a call.

Many phones don't start ringing till about the third ring, so it is necessary to build in those extra rings. Especially when in a weak signal area.

You can force callers into voice mail right away by sliding to the left instead of the right.
