My new phone's battery is not lasting very long. It appears the phone is staying awake all of the time. I cannot tell why. The screen is going off, but the phone doesn't sleep. I tried the safe mode, but it didn't work either.
Download an app called wake lock detector. It'll keep track of what apps keep your phone awake. You'd be surprised as to what apps it often is. For example from time to time I seen Google Play Services being #1 culprit and sometimes as silly as a game for some reason that doesn't shutdown correctly (poorly written code).
Having a long lasting battery is vital, No1stfan. I rely on my phone throughout the day too, so I know the importance of finding a solution. When did this problem start happening? How long is your battery lasting for? How are you closing out of your running applications? Please share details and any testing you completed other then safe mode.
