Why am I unable to call or answer calls on galaxy S5?

I have smashed to face of my galaxy S5, and the screen is black. However, I can hear rings and notifications, and I can talk on the phone if I take the call in my car, where it is paired up. I just cannot call on it or answer a call. Does anyone know wh

Would it be best to repair the phone since I'm under a 2 year contract for 9 more months, or should I find a used or refurbished phone?

Have you tried reseating the SIM card? Replacing the SIM card? What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
