Is there a way I can read my text messages online in case I have lost my phone or something happens to my phone?

Since you posted this in the related space, I'm assuming you're using Verizon Messages ... in which case the answer is 'yes'. Log into your My Verizon account, hover over My Plan & Services, then click Send a Message.
If you aren't using Verizon Messages, you only have access to text logs (not content).
