LG Rever 3 works fine for about 3 minutes then stops working completely

My phone is about 1 1/2 years old and recently it stopped working after being on for about 3 minutes and goes to an all white screen. 

Charged it with the original charger;  no fix

removed and reinserted the battery; no fix

swapped batteries with my wife's identical phone; no fix (and my wife's phone works fine on my battery)

thoughts anyone?
