Is it okay to keep the Droid plugged in when it's finished charging?

My old feature phone would warn me to unplug it when it was charged as to avoid "overcharging." However, with this phone, I assume that it stops charging when full since the lightning bolt goes away and the LED turns green.

I like to leave it plugged in when I'm at my desk or overnight when I'm sleeping. I figure I use less of the battery cycles that way too.

Anyone know if this is bad practice?

I have left mine plugged in nearly every night since April without an issue. Actually the battery never really fully charges. That is why if you, 'Bump Charge' your battery will last much longer.

Bump charging is shutting the device down when the light turns green. (There is no need to unplug before shutting down the device for this to work) The light will turn to amber and will continue charging for about 1/2 hour and will turn green again. NOW it is fully charged.

Did u just get ur incredible if so there is a Tag that is attached to the cord that Says:

1.Standard Battery 4.0 Hours

2.Extended Battery 5.0 Hours

When charging my Incredible i usally pute it on an let it charge till the green light comes on or i may for 1 hour over that but never overnight: an usally if says it can stay on longer on the charger it will indicated that u can in the Instructions without harming the Battery or the Device but it say on this tag to remove when charging is complete: I wood contact HTC before going that long on a charge as it may Harm the Incredible an U dont want that to happen to Ur new phone!. a least i Wouldnt . :smileyvery-happy:

Check out my post two posts below yours on the main DROID page (this one here) it has a link that addresses this very issue. Yes, you can leave your phone plugged in, it actually cycles on it's own once your phone reaches full charge. This difference stems from changing technology, and the source I linked to actually states that it is better to charge your phone even if you don't feel you need to yet.
