mm qcamera daemon

I have a VZ Droid mini- [ version 4.4.4]  with a mm-qcamera-daemon process running that significantly increases the heat of the phone and very quickly depletes the battery. There were a few forum posts on the VZ site but none that seem to have an answer, and especially for this model. I’ve deleted the camera app and QR code scanner. Any thoughts or insight on how to remove this would be greatly appreciated.

Rachaenb, That is strange that this would be happening. When did this problem start? Have you installed any new camera apps on the device?
