Can I change text messages to chat instead of SMS?

Recently my text was going through as chat now its back to sms, is there a way to changeit back to chat?

As far as I can tell, it will only be CHAT if it's a group text, OR the other person is also using the same version of Verizon Messages+.

If your other contacts have ditched Messages+ due to the updating issues, and are using another messaging app, then they will show as SMS.

Can you please explain why you want it to be chat based instead of SMS?

This was a nice fuction to my verizon users. I was able to see when the read my messages and when they were responding back. I like the idea for verizon users. I see mine has changed back to sms and seems a delay in messaging too..
