When we will get Android 7.1 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 edge
I guess the bottom line to this is that Verizon needs to say something to their customers as to what the hold up is and why.
I don't think that is too much to ask, and I think it would be in their best interests to save face over this.
I totally agree with you, Verizon needs to say something, we are CUSTOMERS and we deserve to be treated like a CUSTOMERS.
This is one of the the many reviews that Verizon has with customers.
Horrible, horrible company. I cannot tell more about how they are careless and rude and liar with customers.
This is the exact reason why I wish the [Removed] since Samsung, other Android manufacturers and carriers love to drop support for a phone that is no longer the new hotness. This is complete [Removed]! We pay the premium price for a premium phone so we demand premium support and premium updates for our phone. Att, Sprint and T-mobile have nougat so why don't we? Excuses are like [Removed], everybody gots one. Verizon is the only service I could get in my location otherwise I would rather be with T-mobile.

Just say something Verizon! Communicate with us! Example: Valued customers, there was an issue with the first build that was submitted. It had to be sent back to address these issues. It will take us a couple more weeks to test the current build, however, it could take longer. If we run into any further issues we will keep you informed as you are very important to us. There, that wasn't so difficult was it? You don't have to give away any trade secrets. You don't have to give us an exact date and time. Just communicate with us, that's all we are asking. Am I being unreasonable?
Start checking for updates people! I haven't seen mine yet but did come across this site that claims Verizon is STARTING to roll out the update. Let's hope our wait is finally over.
Verizon's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are now receiving their official Nougat updates
Even Verizon's own website is now showing it!!
Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Software Update | Verizon Wireless
Have tried both manual update through the phone, and also Verizon software assistant. Both say no new updates available. Guess it's not ready in NJ yet.. smh
I have been checking all night and nothing
Updates can be staged. But, if it were already live you would see some people getting it. Also the Android websites would be more active. I'm sure it will be turned on at some point today.
Ah, well, what do you know, guess it wasn't worth all the fuss after all.
Downloaded and updating now (first update since November 2016) :smileyhappy:
Whoop!
Downloaded and installed. 7.0 with Feb 2017 security updates.
Downloaded about an hour ago. Everything so far running smooth...
Oh look, Verizon Wireless wasn't last. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active wasn't updated with the regular version of the S7 and S7 Edge on AT&T over a month ago. It actually received its own update after the Verizon Wireless model. AT&T Galaxy S7 Active is being updated to Android 7.0 Nougat
Maybe not last but certainly very late compared to their counterparts in the states. Now, when will the 7.2 update get pushed? I am laughing just thinking about it.
According to the Nougaaaaaat topic, a member has revealed that the update borks WiFi and requires a factory default.
If anyone checking this topic has updated to Nougat, can you share with us how the update process went and how well your S7/S7E is running?
I'm holding off even checking to see if the update is available for my S7E.
I factory reset after every major release, in place os upgrades are never perfect. Performance is great.

Thank you for replying Travis! ☺
The Marshmallow to Nougat update was the easiest major Android version update I've ever experienced. I had no wifi issues or excessive battery drain issues. The new power saving features of Nougat have made a positive difference for me. I simply updated and went about my business. Couldn't have been smoother.
In the past, yes, after a major update from one version to another I run into issues and wound up doing factory resets but 99%+ of the time the culprit was an app I had installed that was stated to be compatible with the new Android version but really wasn't and/or had a coding flaw.
Thank you for commenting Kincaed!
On the Samsung community there's over 40 pages of people complaining about the update to 7.0.
Samsung isn't saying a word.
Have anyone had any problems with the sofware update?
My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has been well behaved. No problems detected before or after the software update.
