Galaxy S5 Linked Contacts in Error

Suddenly my phone linked a bunch of unrelated contacts. Joe Smith from Minnesota was linked with Sally Nelson from Iowa. No relationship whatsoever between the contacts, but they were linked. I have been able to unlink as needed where I've found the issue, but wondering:

1) What might cause this?

2) Is there a way to mass unlink contacts?

Thanks for the details. It may have been an app conflict or something wasn't working correctly while overseas. I'm glad you got them unsynced. I would recommend reviewing them where they are backed up. For example the My Verizon Account.

That's definitely odd and we certainly want to make sure that all your contacts are in the right place. When did this start happening? Any recent changes or new addtions to the phone since this started such as an email account or another account of the like?

I First noticed it a few days ago. Marshmallow? Also was overseas. And I noticed contractually contact sync was running.

That is definitely odd, asusduracell. This likely was a one off. Has it re-occurred since the last time that the contacts synced in this manner?
