Why am I not getting sound Notifications when using Messages+?

I don't get notification sound on incoming text messages when using Messages+ . All other sounds work fine. I get incoming text message notification when using the standard Messages app but not with Messages+ . Anyone see this before? My phone is HTC one Remix

I use Messages + and get all incoming sounds.

Go to the main conversations screen and select the 3 dots at the top right.

Select Customize

Select Tones

Find the tone you want.

It's important to hear all of your notifications loud and clear. Let's get to the bottom of this together. How long has this been going on? Around the time that this started, do you remember making any changes to your phone (new software update, new applications, etc)?

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy J7, it recently quit giving a sound notification when a text came in. So far all these suggestions have failed, (there is no verticle triple dot key on the message screen.) Thanks
